Jetpack could not contact WordPress.com: register_http_request_failed. This usually means something is incorrectly configured on your web host. error setting certificate verify locations: CAfile: /usr/share/ssl/certs/ca-bundle.crt CApath: none

Using default out-of-the-box vanilla WordPress Bitnami AMI image (for Amazon)

But solved by doing this manually creating the file (open vi and copy paste https://certifie.com/ca-bundle/ca-bundle.crt.txt in it).

Thanks for the fix. That will work if you have complete control over your webserver. For those that don’t, they will need to contact their host.

I’ll try and get in touch with Bitnami to see if they can update their WP AMI image.

As of two weeks ago, Bitnami’s WP AMI no longer has these certificate issues, so everything should work fine.
