I am running a WooCommerce store with a WooTheme and would like to add a few sharing buttons because with their short-code, it is hard to put them side-by-side without any of the counters or special features.

I found that JetPack allows for these sharing functions all-in-one, but it needs to be connected to a WordPress.com account — what is the downside of doing so?

Is it overkill for just this one function?

Doesn’t every added plug-in slow down website loading for visitors?

I essentially want a row of share buttons:
    | Like | Tweet | +1 | Pin It |

If not JetPack, do you know any simple solutions?

    Thank you in advance.

You can install Jetpack and then only keep the modules you want active. Go to Jetpack -> Click Learn More of the module to Deactivate -> click Deactivate. It shouldn’t add too much overhead to your site.

Connecting to WordPress.com just allows us to offload some of the more intensive tasks (email, stat tracking, etc.) to our data centers instead of keeping that load on your server.
