I would like to know if there is a way to stop events that don’t have an avatar from showing Gravatars?

We have a business site and these are really unprofessional for this environment.

I have added code I found to remove Gravatars from Buddypress, but they still show for Events.

I would rather have a mystery man than a Gravatar.

I have mystery man enabled for users both on WordPress and Buddypress.

    Thanks

Totally agree with you! the most they get in – I think within 12 hours to update plug-in which will be able to specify the default picture!

Was going to post on bp, but I’ll post here… I’ve changed the default avatar, but when creating an event it sill shows the gravatar from gravatar.com…

However, it does POST the default AVATAR that I’ve selected… this is still very confusing for users creating an event as it LOOKS as though it is pulling a weird faced GRAVATAR for the event, even though it ends up POSTING the default avatar.

Again, this is when creating the event… When you create the event (3rd Step) it still shows the GRAVATAR and not the DEFAULT AVATAR selected in the admin panel…

Thanks! I’ll check back here in a a day or so… if I don’t see anything I’ll post on BP…

    Pisanojm,

Do not quite understand the question .. or avatar states, or use “plug”- is a gravatar, or you chose in the administrative panel JES .. what other options might be? (create a blank image ..)

    Ok…

To be clearer: The default Avatar is selected and does APPEAR after the event is created… BUT, when creating the event another image appears when actually creating the event… Here is a picture:

This one of those random created images from somewhere in WordPress/BuddyPress… when creating the EVENT it should default to the chosen image inputted in the Admin-backend…

Unless, I have something else weird going on… I don’t believe I have any plugins active that would be making this happen.

That is the question as to why at the specified avatar by default it is not demonstrated on the stage of creating an event (in this case will be used in future events on the page)?

In other words, should not the admin-selected DEFAULT avatar show-up when creating any event…as it IS the default? When the other generated avatars show up, people are not aware that there even is a default or thing that the generated avatar IS the default…

I don’t know how better to explain this…

If you specify an avatar by default – it is used even at the stage of selecting an avatar for the event! Implemented in 1.6.7
