We just updated this plugin and our admin accounts have been hacked. All of them. So far we’ve deactivated this plugin, but a lot of damage has been done in the few hours before we detected this breach. 6 years of our hard work in building posts (over 10,000 posts) and comments are being seriously deleted off by the perpetrators. We can’t yet confirm if the plugin is the cause until we get an expert tomorrow morning, but the last thing we changed in the last few days was only the upgrade of this plugin… hence immediately that’s what we are currently suspicious about.

Change you passwords ASAP and, if you don’t have your own backups, find out if your hosting provider can restore your account from a recent backup.

Thanks James. We’ve changed all admin passwords and deactivated the plugin. are on call with our provider as of now to get a restore from the backup. we all are very shaken up by this at this moment.

It’s good that you’re having an expert look everything over tomorrow. You’ll want to know where and how they gained access. After everything is taken care of, you may want to implement some (if not all) of the recommended security measures.
