@thomthom44 this is used so AddThis can sync up with your website. We offer a variety of tools and analytics so these scripts are needed to make those tools work properly.

No, there is no reason to link up to sync anything with my website.

The instructions on the “Home” link of the plugin states clearly that the signup is optional so what does it want to sync?

Some of the scripts you’re seeing may be from our data partners, as the AddThis tools may collect data for the purposes of interest-based advertising. For more information about the data that is collected, see our privacy policy page:

s7.addthis.com is deemed to be one of unreliable website. It is born to be a money scammer. To achieve this purpose, it will carry on scam or conduct fraud, without taking consideration about the users. Therefore, it is not a good idea to trust this item at all. If you are sure that the websites have been once opened on your PC, you should take action to get rid of it immediately because it will turn up again and again until your PC is screwed over.

May I say i don’t like your partners? I’m stopping all websites im using addthis with. This is not acceptable. This Virus tracks u without asking. As i’ve looked into this today it pretty mutch suck up all my info non stop.

    Hi @thomthom44,

I assume that you got your information from this website:
    https://computerfixguide.com/completely-remove-s7-addthis-com-virus/

With the rise of false information online, I suggest that you reevaluate the credentials and merits of each website you read before believing it as hard facts.

While your accusation that we contain some kind of virus is certainly false, we always appreciate your feedback!

    Thanks,
    Leland
