plugin is triggering CAPI events that never happend

Just as a refernce I didn’t get more than 10 ATC per day, ever.
I am getting reports of 800+ per day reported to CAPI

I have been getting a lot of add to cart events and other events that never happend sent to facebooks server via CAPI, I have double checked the ga4 and it seems analytics does not have the crazy number of events CAPI is getting, tictok seems fine as well as well as my implemented pixel, as soon as i disable the addon the CAPI events return to normal, I disabled caching both on CDN and on my website

From what I gather, there are findings showcasing that plugin is triggering CAPI events that never happened.

Note that, you can use the code snippet linked here, to disable the extension’s Facebook Pixel and Conversion API (CAPI).

With regard to investigating this further, could you please provide us with further screenshots, so that we can see what you are describing?

Additionally, to get an idea of how your site is configured, could you please share a copy of your site’s System Status, as exemplified here? Once you’ve done that, paste it here in your response.

I checked your website and the plugin is inactive now, correct?

Do you have Facebook’s Pixel Helper browser extension? If you do, can you activate the plugin and see if it shows any errors on that extension?

You also mentioned that when you disable this plugin, the issue is solved. Would you be able to run a full conflict test to see if another plugin is interfering with this one?

To test, you’ll first want to change the theme on your site to Storefront.

Then, you’ll want to deactivate all plugins except for WooCommerce and Facebook for Woocommerce and take a look. If that fixes the problem, re-enable the other plugins one by one (gradually), checking after each, to see where the issue is coming from.

— Be sure you have a good backup in place of your full site and database. You can ask your host for backup functionality or you can consider using a service like Jetpack. If something goes wrong, you will be able to restore it.

— Also, you can consider using a plugin like Health Check & Troubleshooting. This is a plugin developed by the WordPress community and it is helpful to disable plugins without affecting your current site visitors.

— It is important to consider as well a staging functionality in case you would not like to touch your production site (you can ask your host if they offer this service), or you can use WP Staging for quickly spinning up a new test site.

Pixel and CAPI from GTM seem to be working fine, but I wanted to ask if this is a known issue, is the best fix to just disable the pixel and CAPI from the plugin and only use it to populate the catalogue ?

I could setup a staging site but to observe the issues I would have to futher slam my dataset / pixel ??

I also could not find any logs etc, about where the stuff is coming form :(, in general I would like to have the ability to switch on parts of the plugin on and off, pixel, catalogue, CAPI etc. It would make life a lot easier for users ??

This is not a known issue, so it would be best to continue investigating it so we can figure out what exactly is causing it.

I understand it is not ideal to create a staging site for you.

Is it possible to do a conflict test on the live site?

Have you tried Health Check & Troubleshooting?

A conflict test would be really helpful because it would help us understand if there are external things interfering with the plugin or if this is something entirely related to this plugin. This way we would know in what direction to move forward on the investigation.
