Plugin is reporting XML-RPC not installed for this site

Upon adding a site and checking “enable,” a yellow status message appears at the top:
“XML-RPC services are disabled on this site.”
Double-checking Settings > Writing shows that XML-RPC is indeed enabled.
Not sure what to make of this. Any thoughts?
