    Hi,

    Today I have installed Blackhole for Bad Bots plugin. But still website CPU usage very high. I think plugin is not working.

    First thing to check:

    Does the site use any cache plugins?

    Yes.. Light Speed Cache

    Is it caching your page content?

    If so, it is not compatible with Blackhole at this time.

    This is because page cache prevents dynamic scripts from running for each page load. So plugins like Blackhole cannot function.

    Currently I have deactivated lightspeed cache plugin but it is still not working

    How do you know it’s not working? Which test(s) are you trying?

    CPU usage still above 90%

    Nowhere does the plugin claim to lower CPU usage. If a lot of bots are trapped, then that can happen. But just because no bots are getting trapped (or the CPU is not changing) does not mean the plugin is not working.

    To learn more about possible reasons why the plugin may not seem to be working, visit the documentation and read the section, “Why no bots?”

    Then, to learn how to correctly evaluate proper functionality, read the section “Testing Blackhole” on the same page.
