The Paypal Payment plugin is passing emails with @dcc2.paypal.com to PayPal, rather than passing the woocommerce user email.

    Hi @jjg544,

Are you using the latest plugin version 1.6.5?
There have been similar reports in the past which have been resolved in update 1.6.3: https://github.com/woocommerce/woocommerce-paypal-payments/issues/378
But for you, the rest of the user information is visible in the PayPal order, including the name? It is only the user email address that is replaced with the one from the DCC profile?
We haven’t had any other reports about this since update 1.6.3, so we’d be interested in learning more about how it could be reproduced.
    Thanks!

    Kind regards,
    Niklas

Yes I am using version 1.6.5 of the plugin. WordPress version 5.9

The rest of the information is visible on the PayPal order. Name was not coming through until I deactivated the other paypal plugins that I’m no longer using.

Yes, it is only the email address that is replaced with the @dcc2 email.

One thing to note is that email addresses are not displayed in PayPal in the main transaction screen. They are shown when you click on something like ‘Print packing slip’ or ‘Ship’. This could be why other user haven’t reported the problem as it is not immediately obvious.

    Thanks for looking into it.

    Hi @jjg544,

Thanks for the report! Multiple PayPal integrations active at the same time can potentially interfere with each other, so it’s always good to only use one at a time.

Anyway, I was able to reproduce it right away and it’s definitely not meant to be like this. But to be clear, this only affects credit card payments with the PayPal Card Processing or with already vaulted credit cards. In all other cases, the correct email address should be shown in all PayPal interfaces.
The mail address in question is used for handling in the PayPal system for advanced credit card payments but it’s not supposed to be visible anywhere for the user or the merchant.
Our developers will look into how we can improve this behavior and I will try to provide a status update when I have more information.

    Kind regards,
    Niklas

    Hi @jjg544,

We brought this up with our partners at PayPal and it is actually the expected behavior for the moment. This is a limitation on PayPal’s end for guest checkouts (non-PayPal account) with advanced card payments.
So for the moment, there is nothing we can do about it except wait for PayPal to resolve it or provide a different workaround.

We have checked all flows and the data is transmitted the way it is expected, just not necessarily as would be preferred in the case of the advanced card payments. Once there’s a way to improve the behavior, we will take it into account.

    Kind regards,
    Niklas

@niklasinpsyde is this still the case? The information is largely missing yet other PayPal plugins bring this information over. Can you kindly advise, why is this plugin so unstable? The reviews are really bad as well, sadly this thing must be a nightmare for your guys right now. I guess I’m being forced to move to something else, just to many random unstable issues. It does get the payments to PayPal, but missing so much vital information ):
