• Had high hopes that Hide My WP would provide a robust solution to keep hackers away — unfortunately not so.

Yesterday, I installed the plugin on my website and used the “custom mode” setting. This morning I checked the Wordfence “Live Traffic” log and I saw that a foreign hacker had attempted to login to my website using the “exact custom login” that I created via the plugin.

Apparently, there’s a way that hackers can easily and quickly sniff out the custom login. My guess is that they are somehow finding the login information in an archive or cache.

Fortunately for my case, I was also using a backend method to limit access to the login page — so the hacker was sent to my 404 page.

    Hi,

Thanks for the feedback but I don’t see how this is a review instead of a support ticket.

You can’t blame the plugin if the theme is showing the new login path.

Please change your review to a support and I will help you make the plugin work for your website.

    Thank you,
    John
