  • I would like to help you sort out this problem. Can you give me some more information?

What exactly happens when you enable the plugin?

Can you provide me with a copy of your event list so I can try to enter the exact same events on my test site?

Sorry meant to elaborate. The mini calendar should go in the third box from the left on the home page. It’s been working successfully for a few years now and after the recent wp update to 4.3.1 this whole site crashes when it is turned on. I singled out by turning off all plugins and turning them back on again one by one. Site works now but without the Spiffy Calendar plugin turned on.

There are no events loaded in for Oct 2015 as we were just starting to work on that. The pasted event lists are simple, just titles with dates and times. Some of them have a small description. Sorry I don’t have access to them while its turned off so I don’t have more than that.

Can you provide me with an event list?

    Please email [email protected]

Edit: we posted at the same time. There are plugins that allow you to view the database without turning on the plugin. Let me find one that can help here.

When the plugin is turned on, the site times out to my host landing page with a 504 error message.

Just an update to those who might be interested – I have not been able to reproduce the problem using the exact same events and options on my system. The web host is looking into it.

After exhaustive testing, I found the problem. The plugin uses an information schema query, and Host Gator does not handle these very well. See this thread for further discussion:

To fix the problem, I moved the schema query into the plugin activation function so it is only called when the plugin activates. This will result in slow activation for those using HostGator, but once activated it will run smoothly.

    Version 2.1.2 contains the fix.

Thanks so much for staying on this, site works and looks great now!
