    Hi,

I am using the newest plugin version 6.1. Since last update… I have checked on settings page: [x] Add Icons, [x] Open in New Windows
and plugin is converting all my internal links in menu (and probably in different places too) into external adding icons next to it and opening them in new tab…
Tried to disable plugins one by one, but didn’t work. Any ideas what it can be?

    Cheers

Part of the legacy of this plugin is that it assumed a link was external unless it concluded it was an internal link. So if it turns out if fails a test for it being an internal link, it is then external.

So the interesting part would be why it thinks a menu link back to a page on your site is being treated as external. Can you provide the url of the site you’re seeing it on?

If you turn off Apply Globally that should stop the behavior you’re seeing. Only links within a page, post, comment will be processed.

I’m actually seeing a similar issue, even with “apply globally” unchecked. It may be the same thing that Mike mentioned in his first reply…it only seems to happen to “non-traditional” page-types, in my case in a page created by The Events Calendar plugin.

Well the new 6.3 effectively assumes a link is internal unless determined it is external. Now this is not saying it still doesn’t think the link is external. There are simply so much variety nowadays with with links and attributes.
