Plugin is conflicting with WPML

Edit: I did more testing. I think I found where issue is.

I did exactly this in this order.

1. Created wordpress VPS on ubuntu 14.04 using Digitalocean
2. Enabled Multisite using this guide
3. Installed theme (didnt activate)
4. Installed all plugins (didnt activate)(woocommerce, wpml, swiss knife)
5. Created new site in network
6. Activated woocommerce only for one site + installed pages
7. Activated swiss knife (working 100% fine)
8. Activated WPML (didnt configure yet) + check swiss knife settings (100% fine)
9. Start to configure WPML. Choosing Current content language. I choose Slovak language, hit next. Now I checked swiss knife settings on new tab. (NOT working).
I tested with other languages and it looks like swiss knife will work only with languages which have .MO and .PO files in /lang directory of you plugin. Some other languages are working too (Slovak, Czech, Korean). However Slovak is not working. Please is there any way to fix this issue?

Thank you for your response. I was able to find only 3 non-functioning languages (Slovak, Czech, Korean). Other languages seem to work also without .PO/.MO file.

Hello, I was able to translate about 50% of strings so far. I uploaded wcpgsk-sk_SK.po and wcpgsk-sk_SK.mo files to /lang directory. I again did all the steps I described before. In plugin settings strings are being translated but plugin is still not working properly.

I enabled a WPMU site, all plugins: WooCommerce, WooCommerce Poor Guys Swiss Knife, WPML and WooCommerce Multilingual.

Afterwards I added Slovak to the WPML languages to see if this breaks the first of the multisites and it does not!

You did something else: You activated Slovak as the current content language and this is problematic, not because of my plugin, because of the translation management scheme implemented in WPML. The recommended way is to use English as the default language and to translate from English. If you use Slovak as your primary language right from the start, this complicates things.

You want to do something else: You want Slovak as your primary and maybe as your only language for the current multisite instance. To achieve this, I would recommend

1. to leave English as the default language
2. to add Slovak as the second language
3. to translate all you need and to save .mo files of the translations
4. to establish slowak as your primary language now

I’ve tested the activation of Slovak as primary language after adding it as secondary language first and WooCommerce Poor Guys Swiss Knife works.

Another note: I registered all strings of the WooCommerce Swiss Knife Plugin before switching the primary language to Slovak. That’s important…

Afterwards you have the strings available for translation using WPML.

And one more remark: I have tested this with the current site in Slovak and I’ve added fields to WooCommerce Poor Guys Swiss Knife, too.

But, testing a bit more: If I switch my admin user language to Slovak, things break. Could you please test, setting your (wpml) admin user language to English in your user settings?!

Hello, it looks like it is working, I am testing more. I have one more question. Is it possible to translate Labels? I tried to search for them in string translation but didnt find them.

For sure. You have to autoregister strings with WPML. You can find this setting in the “String Translation” section of WPML at the end. Once you have all your labels defined you auto-register strings visiting the front-end of your site with the checkout forms. Afterwards you have to deactivate the “auto-register” strings option to save resources.

I will leave this open for another two or three days.

Thanks, it looks like I will need faster server, while auto-register is on cpu is on 99.9%. If I will find something more while testing I will post here. Thank you for your help.
