Plugin is Breaking WooCommerce Product edit and also not syncing anymore

    Hi,
    The last (or maybe second-to-last) update has caused problems with my site. I cannot edit my WooCommerce products (all my products are normal products).

    Also, the plugin is not syncing at all with my Facebook and Instagram stores.

    Checking the “Programmed Actions” in the WooCommerce “Status” page, I realized that I have a lot of failed actions, and they are all from “wc_facebook_regenerate_feed”. They all say that “the action timed out after 300 seconds”. They all started a few days ago, so I’m assuming maybe after the last update or second to last update.

    I tried deleting the product catalog from Facebook, and re-connecting the plugin, but this also didn’t work, and now my Facebook and Instagram stores are not showing because they don’t have products.

    Bottom line, something is wrong with the catalog syncing, and it times out. This didn’t happened before with my settings, so it’s not a “not enough memory” problem.

    Thanks for taking the time to share all these screenshots with me. I’ve taken a closer look and it seems that even though it’s not immediately discernable, our plugin is working as expected.

    The numbered category is the Google product category that is synced to the Category property in Facebook. The WooCommerce categories are instead synced to the Product Type property. You can find that property in the same page you’ve found the Category property in your Facebook account.

    In terms of creating collections, I’ve taken a closer look and doesn’t seem to be a way to filter products based on their property when manually creating a collection. Instead, it seems to only allow for products to be selected that should go into the new collection. There’s a way to instead create product sets (used for ads, not shop display) with product properties though.

    Is this what you’re referring to or are you talking about a different process? ??

    I’ve checked what you told me.

    First of all, yes, I assume that the Google product category is being synced to the Category property in Facebook.

    I disagree with this choice you guys have made, as it doesn’t seem correct: I’m syncing WooCommerce with Facebook, so the Categories in Facebook should be the same as WordPress, and nothing to do with Google. Specially because, this wasn’t like this before. All my categories were the same in both sides.

    Second thing. No, the WooCommerce categories are no syncing in the Product Type property. None of my products in Facebook appears to have a product type.

    But, going back to the Category property, this is where it gets interesting.

    The other day, after taking the screenshots, I updated the categories of “Man Of Steel #6” in WooCommerce. Just something I had to do. Nothing to do with testing.

    Today, while checking for the info you told me, I realized that “Man Of Steel #6” now has the WooCommerce categories in the Category Facebook property, instead of the Google number.

    Then, I checked with another product (“Dark Days: The Casting #1”) and there it was, the Google number on the Category property.

    So, I updated the categories in WooCommerce for that last product, and checked again. Now the Category property has synced up with the WooCommerce categories.

    As you can see, when updating a product, the WooCommerce categories for that product sync up with Facebook to the Category property, just as I think it should be.

    Regarding to Collections, yes, you can filter products based in properties. I have created collections filter by Name for the moment, and I could create them filtering by Product Type or Category, if I had the correct info on those properties.

    That’s likely best if the plugin is not compatible. This thread is long and at this point, it will be best to ensure the Facebook plugin is working as expected with WooCommerce core.

    To do that, try switching back to a default theme like Twenty Twenty and disabling all plugins except for WooCommerce and Facebook for WooCommerce to see if this resolves the problem.

    If this fixes the issue, then re-enable each plugin one at a time, then the theme, until you find the one that’s causing the conflict.

    Feel free to open a new thread after following these steps so we can ensure we are only supporting our plugin and WooCommerce and not compatibility with any other third-party plugin.

    I’m sorry, I’m sure there’s no compatibility issues here with my theme (Divi) or other plugins. I’ve tested this already.

    Also, @pitbozionelos has helped me a lot, and the plugin seems to be working fine in the most important task to me, which is syncing up my products to Facebook.

    The only thing that is weird, is the Category property.

    I’ve disabled the Google default product category in the plugin configuration, but I’m not sure if I should ask for it to re-sync the products in order to have my WooCommerce categories synced up with Facebook.
