    Hi,
While backup my website to my local machine, I got a notification from my antivirus (Avast) that admin-modules.js was infected
    Script:SNH-gen [Trj]
    Threat Type: Trojan Horse.
    File: Elementor\assets\js\admin-modules.js

I then attempted to download a fresh copy of the plugin from this website and my antivirus blocked the download flagging the same file as above for the same reason.

Can you advise as to why this is getting flagged?

    Additional Information:

The date and version of the problem file is: /*! elementor – v3.20.0 – 20-03-2024 */
I pulled the backup from before I updated to this version.
Date and version of last prior version ran: /*! elementor – v3.11.2 – 22-02-2023 */
This file scans clean and does not trip antivirus.
A comparison with diffchecker between the two shows 582 additions in the newer file.

  • I get this too, would be good to know how to solve it.

    I get this too

I have the same. I hope someone has a solution

Same problem! We need a solution, please.

    getting the same for common-modules

Elementor is triggering Avast Antivirus for me as well, for Script:SNH-gen [Trj].
    Avast mentions these URLs:

    /wp-content/plugins/elementor/assets/js/common-modules.min.js
    /wp-content/plugins/elementor/assets/js/common-modules.min.js?ver=3.22.3

I’m experiencing the same issue with the Elementor WP plugin (from the /wp-content/plugins/elementor/assets/js/common-modules.min.js?ver=3.22.3 URL).

Whenever Avast reports the error, the pages of the Elementor plugin stop working properly. For example, navigating through the various subsections of the settings page (general, style, integrations, advanced) doesn’t work, and neither does the Tools page.
Additionally, other pages of the WP dashboard, like the Theme Options page (and sometimes the Media gallery), are affected and display only the title without the content grid. When I deactivate Elementor, the various compromised pages in the dashboard return to normal.

I hope a solution can be found soon. In the meantime, I’ve had to put the site in maintenance mode with another plugin because the theme I use on the site I’m updating is based on Elementor and I can’t use Elementor’s Maintenance Mode with the custom page I had created.

EDIT: If I try to download the Elementor plugin from the official page here on WP, the download fails because Avast reports the same issue.

I have the same problem reported by AVG antivirus.
    Threat Name: SNH-gen [Trj]
    Path: …/public_html/wp-content/plugins/editore/assets/js/common-modules.min.js?ver=3.22.3
    A solution is needed. Please.

    Same problem here …

And of course, this is flagged to any visitor to the webite who of course, will not proceed to the site.

This is not a one off incident – we’re running three sites, all with the exact same issue with Elementor.

Same problem here. Can not change pages! Wordfence can not find treats on the site. But is is not possible to update theme OceanWP. Plugins and WordPress are up to date.

Are the developers of Elementor in this forum?
Is here someone who nows where to reach them.

I have the same problem ??

Hello, same issue with Avast. I had to downgrade to elementor V3.19.4.

    Looks like a false positive
