    Internal Server Error:
The server encountered an internal error or misconfiguration and was unable to complete your request.

Please contact the server administrator, [email protected] and inform them of the time the error occurred, and anything you might have done that may have caused the error.

More information about this error may be available in the server error log.
Additionally, a 500 Internal Server Error error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.

    Hi Hans,

I checked in the logs to find the exact issue that Christopher corrected on your .htaccess:

Since it’s already been fixed, it’s difficult to find what exactly modified the file, however I believe that it was likely through the WordPress admin section. The permalinks settings sometimes cause issues like this.

In order to prevent this from happening again, I could make that .htaccess file read-only. That way, modification would not get written to the file and you would not get the internal server errors.

Of course, ideally, we would like to find which plugin or feature is modifying the .htaccess file thusly.

Please let me know how you would like to proceed.
