    Hi there,

I was working on my WordPress site when I noticed that if I had the “Media Replacement” setting checked under “Content Management”, no image in my media library would load under the grid layout (but they would load fine in list layout).

I realised later that this was somehow a conflict with the WP Debugging plugin. Could you investigate, please? Nothing in the developer console seemed to tell me what was causing this bug (it displayed no error).

@nazrinn interesting. I’m not seeing any PHP or JS errors either. So, can’t really tell what the issue is.

Here are some ideas on what you can do:

    1. Disable WP Debugging only on the Media Library grid view using Freesoul Deactivate Plugins or Plugin Logic.
    2. Replace WP Debugging with something like Debug Log Manager if it fulfills your debugging requirements. Note: DLM is another of my free plugins.
    3. Report this issue to WP Debugging support forum. Maybe they’ll have some idea on what’s happening here.

I’ll message the other dev. Thanks for the reply. =)

Hey I’m the dev for WP Debugging. If there’s some sort of error I would love to help solve the conflict.

I’ll see if I can reproduce locally.

@afragen thanks for stopping by here. The other part of the problem is that there are no PHP or JS errors being logged. Hope you can reproduce and investigate further.

In a new LocalWP environment I was able to load and activate both plugins. I loaded some images as well. I seem to have no issues loading the Media Library grid.

Upon further investigation, this seems to happen only when reproducing those step but also when Elementor (free) is installed and activated. I’m going to guess this is from their AI image generation feature somehow conflicting with both of your plugins.

I am also getting console warnings when trying to launch their AI feature from the pink “Generate with Elementor AI” button at the top of the media library.

I guess I should be contacting Elementor and report a bug on their GitHub?

@afragen thank you for the thorough investigation! We can rule out conflict between WP Debugging and ASE now.

@nazrinn that seems to be the culprit. I can confirm on my test site as well. The base / free Elementor plugin is the one that seems to be causing it. I’m seeing the behaviour with Elementor v3.23.3. Hope you and @afragen can troubleshoot it with Elementor support.
