[Plugin: Header Image Slider] load caption information over image

I love the Header Image Slider plugin.
I’d like to be able to load caption info with each image (I want to use it to show photo credits actually). I think that’s possible. This thread shows how it can be done with the_post_thumbnail function. I found the referenced code works well for non-sliding images. When using it with the slider plugin, the caption does not change with the slider.
