Plugin Hangs up WordPress

  • Upgraded (3.8.12) on a test server to see what the problem might be. It gives this error message upon load:

    The plugin generated 573 characters of unexpected output during activation. If you notice “headers already sent” messages, problems with syndication feeds or other issues, try deactivating or removing this plugin.

    The plugin is updated, but causes wordpress to hang up if it is active.

    Suggestions?

    Hangup occurs in WP 3.5 and 3.5.1. If I deactivate the plugin in wp-options file, then WordPress begins running.

    I tried reverting as far back as 3.7.1 (3.8, 3.8.5, 3.7.8 also hang up) with no other plugins active and the dashboard still hangs up. It is not my theme either. The locator loaded in 2012 but the dashboard still hung up. As soon as I deactivate store locator in wp_options, dashboard begins working.

    What theme are you using? I cannot reproduce the issue with a clean WP3.5.1 install with the Twenty Twelve theme active on a “clean box” (fresh Centos 6.3 install with MySQL + PHP 5.3 , WP 3.5.1, SLP plugins).

    Using Vulcan theme. But it made no difference when I switched to 2012 the hang up still occurred.

    I have spent too much time on getting this plugin to play nice after the update. The license was money ($50) down a rat hole as of right now. I liked it until it quit working. I cannot keep my client waiting on a solution.

    Using SimpleMap instead. It does not hang up WordPress 3.5.1 and was pretty easy to implement with its CSV data import.
