• I installed this and can’t get any kind of confirmation on subscribe. The subscriptions write but no confirmation … all I get is a blank screen landing on the ar_gwa.php.

Any ideas before I uninstall and move on?

    Thx

  • The odd thing is that it works… the user just can’t tell that it has. It’s rather annoying really. Although, I’m not sure how to fix it.

You can change the subscription success, failure, and unsubscribe messages. However, I can’t seem to get them to work right. I’m thinking about modifying the actual plugin with custom messages, because the current way it does things just isn’t working.

It seems as if the custom messages disappear after a little while. I’m not sure why. The text boxes literally loose all the info that was typed into them.

I am unsure why you lost the textbox messages unless you uninstalled the plugin? They are simply get_ set_ options. I have this plug-in running on many blogs and am checking them constantly all the time.

After we do a subscribe/unsubscribe I am starting up blog_header() with the message you set as the only content… I am assuming this isn’t working for some reason.

You can uninstall/reinstall the plugin without losing your list though I believe the messages are returned to default on install.

I got your suggestions nthnlsmmrs and am looking at how to implement your ideas… but I would like to work out these bugs first!

The only message that works is the Failed message (when entering a duplicate.)

I enter a new address and results in a blank screen leaving the user clueless. I’ve tried uninstalling/reinstalling/FF/IE/Safari — doesn’t matter.

Sorry, but I can’t waste any more time on this… uninstalled and moving on.

It may have been an issue of reinstalling the plugin. But to get around it, I decided to just put it all in manually and edit the plugin itself. It works well enough for my needs and that’s all that I really need.

For me, it seemed as if the fields rest after I moved away from that options page. While I was there, everything worked fine. But when I navigated away from it and then back, the fields where empty.

I installed the ar_gwa plugin and it works fine except that in admin, in the ar_gwa control area, the tab links don’t work in IE7, only in Firefox. I’ve tried this on 2 different computers. I just can’t navigate the applet control with IE. What gives?

Also, the confirmation message that I get when I respond to the subscribe email, is written out under the header (h1) of every post on my WP home page, repeated. Is there some way, it can post outside of the loop? Or a redirect page that’s not my home page?

So far the subscription part, confirmation email, etc. all work on my site. I am having one problem, I can’t get it to direct to the right page though. Just goes to my main post page. I put the code from the help file in my index.php file (sort of guessing as to where in the file it should go) but I’m getting the same result.

I think this could be a simple, elegant solution to what I need. I just need it to work correctly, all the time.

I’m not big on tweaking the main page. I got the response to show up once I put the code at the top of the index page just after <div id=”content”>. But the blog contents were right below. I’d like to just show the response, not sure how to code it.

    WP v 2.6.1

Hi, the latest version is 2.2.8 and you can assign the response page in the widget though it isn’t necessary to use the widget subscription form.

Put whatever you want on that page (or nothing) and the responses will appear that page.

You can include the form html on any webpage not just on your weblog.
