[Plugin: Group Documents] Restrictions on Downloads

    Can we add some download restrictions for the documents uploaded. Right now, once a document is uploaded, anyone (whether logged in or not) can download the document. It will be great if the document link is seen to everyone but when they click to download it, they are asked to login. Alternatively, if someone is logged in, they can directly download the document.

  • Thanks for giving the plugin a whirl. Yes, user authentication is an oft-requested feature, and is high on the list. Keep in mind, for a non-logged in user to be able to download the document, the group would need to be public (in which case, downloading is fine, the group should be private if it’s not), or they would have to get the direct url (which is fairly obfuscated). Although not airtight, it’s probably easier said than done.
