• I can’t use this plugin because this text:

“The GPP Slideshow plugin works best with Graph Paper Press themes, like Base or Modularity or any of their respective child themes. It will likely work with other themes, too, but you might have to change your Media Settings for seamless integration. Installing a Graph Paper Press theme will remove this notice.”

Is displayed on every page of my admin now. I don’t want to install a Graph Paper Press theme instead of my custom, branded design, thank you. It should say “Installing a Graph Paper Press theme, or CLICKING HERE, will remove this notice.” Until then, I consider it broken for placing intrusive code in my admin.

Nice plugin. But could have an option in the admin panel to disable this message.

    Thanks.

Now that it’s responsive and fit any theme size, we’ll be removing the notice in the next release.

Mate, I think you’re missing the point: Why would you remove the notice because “it is responsive and will fit any theme size”, when you should remove the notice because it is intrusive and has no “close” button?

Have to say, I’ve just gone to use it and immediately wanted to know how to hack this out. I’ve not even worked the plugin yet and i won’t unless I can hack this overbearing marketing ploy out. This is far more likely to alienate users than bully custom. Good code and good support wins custom, not this kind of flagging.

For the record, and to their credit, they’ve obviously heard and taken note of input. The plugin has just been updated and the notice is gone. That kind of response can’t be faulted.
