[Plugin: Google XML Sitemaps] sitemap generation not appearing in google webmaster tools

  • HI, I used google sitemap generator two days ago. I have checked on google webmaster toosl and they have still not received it.
    How long should they have to wait?
    URL: tutorsurrey.com

    The file path to my sitemap that I submitted is: /home/tutorsu1/public_html/sitemap.xml

    The complete URL, as entered in the generation, is:
    https://tutorsurrey.com/sitemap.xml

    I used custom location, not automatic.
    When I clicked on sitemap, it opened up a blank page.

    When I looked on filezilla and downloaded it, and viewed it with notepad I got the file below.

    The file seems to be in the place generator said it would be, but google can’t find it. Tutorsurrey.com is my preferred domain, not https://www.tutorsurrey.com, but it has appeared in neither anyhow.
    I would really appreciate some advice about this,

    OK, it was not in the directory tutorsurrey.net, but in public.html. This may have been the problem, but I just read someone on the google forum saying it didn’t matter where it was, so I can’t be sure it was the issue.
    Anyhow, I ran xml sitemap generator again, with tutorsurey.net as the location, and with automatic location switched on, and it ended up in domain directory.
    But even then it wasn’t until I clicked submit on google webmaster tools that it appeared on webmaster tools. Alelulah.
    But sitemap generator says, after completion, that google has been notified. So what is the point of notifying google if I am going to have to submit the sitemap myself?
