[Plugin: Google XML Sitemaps] Admin Controls at Top of Page Disappear

with the plugin active, my admin controls no longer appear when viewing the site. with the plugin deactivated, the admin controls are again visible. is there a setting i can adjust to restore the admin controls when the plugin is active?
