[Plugin: Google News XML Sitemap] Google-news-xml-sitemap plugin fails to set up

  • I get the following error message:

    “Error: there is a problem with sitemap-news.xml. This file does not exist or is not writable. Visit plugin home for more information.”

    There is no information available on how to resolve it. As it wants to create a writeable file at the root, this is also a security risk, there needs to be a bit more careful thinking about how to implement this plugin.

  • I think you must create sitemap-news.xml file and CHMOD 777 for it.

    I just installed this and no xml sitemap was created. I then manually created blog.com/google-news-sitemap.xml AND blog.com/sitemap-news.xml and 777’ed it. Then reinstalled, still getting a 404… please help!
