[Plugin: Google Importer] Wish to set number of posts imported

  • Great plugin – it works as advertised which is great ??

    I’d like an option to control the number of posts imported. Say, when you use the plugin for the first time, you might want to import _all_ your G+ items in one go, all the way back to the earliest items. (Found a way to do this by changing the max_results variable in the file from 20 to 100 (which appears to be max) but an option would be nice in the options screen)

    Other than this, the options the plugin asks for, are great and works very well ??

    Would be nice too with an option to set the source URL of each post, so that a backlink to the original G+ item could be included in the post.

    There’s only one issue I can see with this plugin – it doesn’t seem to retrieve all items. I miss lots of especially shared items from what gets imported. I suspect this could be an issue if G+ items begin with a hashtag? Not a common pattern between “missed” items though, and some items that begin with a hashtag has indeed been posted.

    Another request : ability to set how often WordPress checks to see if there are new items to fetch. I can imagine a situation where there can be 100+ posts in less than an hour, so it would be nice to make this one a user submitted variable too.

    I probably should include an option to increase how many posts back it imports, and importing all past posts is something I’ve planned on adding when I find the time. Another possibility that would also fix the issue of having too many posts in one hour would be to simply having it keep checking next page of results from Google+ until it runs into a post it has already imported.

    As for the missing posts, I’d have to take a look to try to figure out what might be causing them to be missed.
