• Hello Mate,

I just wanted to know if it is possible to embed Microsoft .DOCX files into this plugin. I have tried myself, by uploading a brand new docx file and then linking it to this plugin but when the page renders, all that is displayed inside the new embeeded document viewer is a bunch of random letters and symbols.

2003 files using .doc work fine, but anything with ‘x’ in its name such as .docx causes the result to be unreadable.

When you download it, it works just fine (as it should)

I am just really confused as it says DOCX works for your plugin?

I hope to hear from you soon, as I am not sure what else to do. I have disabled all other plugin and its pretty much a basic wordpres instance.

    Kind Regards

  • Hi there,

You are correct, Google is currently having a problem displaying DOCX files in the viewer. I expect this will pass but will pursue a solution from them. I tested outside my plugin and it still failed, so unfortunately there’s nothing I can do to fix this issue directly at this point.

    Thanks for letting me know.

    Hello again mate,

Do you happen to know if this issue might be addressed in any of your upcoming releases? I am still having an issue with DOCX displaying as gibberish.

Is this an issue with just the plugin or is it a google thing? as it says in your plugin description that it displays DOCX files.

    Kind Regards

This is not a problem with the plugin. It is currently broken in the viewer itself (Google).

I have a ticket open with them but cannot promise a response time. I’m at their mercy just as you are. Sorry….

In the meantime it should be trivial to convert the affected document(s) into Word 2003 format (.DOC) which continues to work normally.
