  • Yes, you can’t embed files that are that large. Allowed file size is determined by the memory Google has allocated to PHP (or you, if using the enhanced viewer). While there’s no single magic number that I know of, a 30MB PDF isn’t just large, it’s mean. ?? You don’t want to wait 5 minutes or more for the image to render in the viewer even if it were capable of doing that. PDFs can be optimized and compressed. In extreme cases, they can be broken up into smaller files.

    It will be able to handle well a file of several megabytes. The file doesn’t have to be tiny, though the smaller it is the better the performance. a 27MB file is incredibly too large by any standard, not just the viewer. Try aiming in the 8-10MB maximum range, if you must use large files.
