[Plugin: Google Analytics for WordPress] Internal links to track as outbound
-
Hello Joost, hello dear reader,
I’ve checked the box “Track outbound clicks & downloads” which made a new option appear: “Internal links to track as outbound”.
1. What does “Internal links to track as outbound” actually mean? Not literally of course. I rather mean why and when should it be used?
2. If I leave the box “Track outbound clicks & downloads” checked, can I leave the fields for “Internal links to track as outbound” blank and still having “outbound clicks & downloads” tracked?
3. You give the following example/explanation: “If you want to track all internal links that begin with /out/, enter /out/ in the box above. If you have multiple prefixes you can separate them with comma’s: /out/,/recommends/” Euh… Euh… I just use regular links like https://www.abc.com/xyz on my blog. So… I just don’t get it…
In a nutshell, can you give me a simple example to help me understand the idea and implementation of “Internal links to track as outbound”?
I’m looking forward to use this amazing plugin to it’s fullest potential.
And finally, thank you for your patience and thank you for helping out the newbie that I am.
