    I am using the Google Analytics for WordPress plugin.

    I have set it to display the code in the footer, and this seems to be working fine. But there is an additional snippet of code added to the header:

    <script type=”text/javascript”>
    window.google_analytics_uacct = “UA-xxxxxxx-x”;
    </script>

    (The x’s represent my google account).

    I was curious about what this item in the <head> section was. I deactivated the plugin and it went away, along with the full tracking code in the footer.

    Thanks!

    Joost de Valk, the maker of the Google Analytics for WordPress plugin tells me that this code is not coming from his plugin.

    Can anyone else advise me as to where it might be coming from and if it is a problem?

    Thanks!

    Okay, I figured it out. Just in case anyone else ever wonders about this: it links google adsense with your analytics account.
