[Plugin: Google Analytics for WordPress] Error occurred while connecting to Google

Last version of wordpress and this plugin…
i cant add my google analytics account automatically… this error message appears: “Unfortunately, an error occurred while connecting to Google, please try again:”
I have added the code manually but the custom variables are not appearing in Google Analytics… Do I have to add them manually? how can i do that?
