[Plugin: Google Analytics for WordPress] Can't change any settings in 4.2.3

I’m unable to change any settings in the back end.

Upon plugin update to 4.2.3 and reactivation, many settings that were previously unset came back as set, and cannot be unset. For example, all custom variables are now set, anonymize IPs is set, cross domain tracking is set, and many others. If I unset them and then update settings, they come back set.
