[Plugin: Genesis Title Toggle] No Title, No h1 tag

Place an h1 title in the post content.

The way I use this plugin is to disable the page title on the Homepage (h1 is already the site title, in the header) and on pages where I want to define a custom page title (disable the title, then at the top of the page content put <h1>My custom title</h1>)

Thanks for the fast response. A search for h1 on Title Off pages reveals that no h1 is present. The Genesis F/W places the title in the content automatically, hence the need for your plugin.

My goal is to have a specific h1 tag about the page (for SEO) that does not have to display as a menu item nor in the content. I figured there was a way to do this but possibly not.

So you want an h1 tag that isn’t visible? That’s really bad from an SEO perspective, but if that’s truly what you want, use my plugin to disable the automatic titles, then add this to the page content

Thanks for the excellent help. I think I was clumsy in explaining what I want. It is my understanding that the home page should have a very descriptive URL for the SEO and that the h1 tag should match it. I just didn’t know how to do that without putting that title smack on the front page and not having that title as a menu item. I think your suggestion does that.

There are conflicts between design and SEO objectives. A long h1 title, visibly on the home page may arouses the SE but it seems inelegant to me. Your help (and patience) is greatly appreciated.
