[Plugin: GD Star Rating] Ratings of Posts Aggregated from an RSS Feed
-
Hi there, I’m pretty new to WordPress, but I’m trying to set up a blog that aggregates several different “a photo a day” sites from physics classes across the country, as a resource for other physics teachers (I’m also a physics teacher…). It’s just in the preliminary phases (less physics teaching, at least for the summer), but you can check out my attempt here: https://pterodactyl.info/aggregator/
I got the syndication working fine using the plugin FeedWordPress, but I’m also trying to use GD Star Rating to allow visitors to the site to “rate” the aggregated posts, to generate a “top ten” page of the most popular posts. GD Star works fine, but only for the posts that originate on the home blog itself, not for posts that come in through the RSS feed.
I guess there is a fundamental difference between syndicated posts from the RSS feed and original posts that’s tripping up GD Star, but I don’t know what this difference is, so I can’t make any headway trying to correct it. I realize that this could just be an issue of compatibility between GD Star and FeedWordPress, but I’ve tried multiple ratings plugins and they all perform similarly. The plan for the site would be to have no original content, aggregating from a number of participating teachers, so this compatibility is pretty crucial…
Thanks for your help!!
Joe
