[Plugin: GD Star Rating] How to enable voting for only specific categories

    I’ve just installed the GD Star Rating plugin today and have been customizing it. I was wondering if you could tell me how to enable voting for only specific categories.

    I see the categories settings page and have even changed the voting rules of categories I don’t want voting enabled to: Locked and Hidden.

    However, the voting stars are still showing up for those categories.

    Any guidance would be appreciated! ??

  • Setting categories is not enough. All posts that were set before already have different settings, and post settings override category settings. So, you need to do 2 things:

    1. Set global rules on the Settings panel to Inherit From Category. With this, all new posts will get this rules and will use whatever their category is set to.

    2. Go to Tools panel, on the Bulk panel there is a tool that will allow you to change rules for all posts. You need to change it to Inherit From Category also.

    One more thing, I am noticing that the RSS feeds don’t observe the post category settings to be hidden. Expected?
