    Hello

My client has just added a free Boodil plugin with the Open Banking Network that allows payment directly into his Bank Account (currently UK banks but soon many Euro ones will be added)

Anyway, it works in the sense it deposits the funds into his account and shows the Orders in the dashboard.

However, even though the developers say it is now compatible with Woocommerce (most of their clients are on Shopify from what I can tell) but it doesn’t send any emails, not notification to the Admin or customer receipt email. This is the only gateway that doesn’t do so.

I’ve switched to WordPress Twenty Twenty Four theme, deactivated all plugins except Woo and the gateways, and it still fails only with Boodil gateway and WP Logging shows it doesn’t attempt to send anything. However if I go into the order itself and resend the Notification to the Admin, and Customer Invoice (me as the customer) it sends fine and we both got them.

I’ve tried with Woo 7.9.0, 8.2.2 and 8.3.1 and I see you have 8.4.0 now which pretty sure it won’t work on that either. I asked the developer and he said you’d changed the email code or something (but that must have been a long while ago!) so not holding my breath they will fix this quickly.

As this is a really helpful plugin for people who sell supplements and CBD who are always having payment processors change their policy and cancel accounts, payment into Bank account is a huge relief, but this email failure is a real problem.

I’m not much of a coder (copy and paste is my limit) but was looking for something just for that gateway, maybe from when the Thank You order page comes up if they paid by Boodil it could trigger New Order and customer emails, but couldn’t find anything. Do you have any code that would work to trigger Boodil to auto send emails somehow??

    Thanks!

    Hi @shaolin

Given the information you’ve shared, it looks like the issue may lie with the Boodil plugin rather than WooCommerce itself. It’s possible that the plugin hasn’t been updated to be compatible with WooCommerce.

Since this is a third-party plugin which we don’t provide support for (please see our Support Policy), it would be best to reach out to the plugin’s developers for further assistance.

In terms of a workaround, while I understand you’re not comfortable with coding, I can suggest a few steps you might try:

    1. You could try using one of the Email Customizer for WooCommerce or AutomateWoo. These plugins provide options to trigger emails based on specific actions or events.
    2. Alternatively, you could consider using a transactional email service like SendGrid or Mailgun. These services often offer more reliable email delivery and may provide more control over when and how emails are sent.

You may also consider hiring a developer to create a custom solution. While this may involve some cost, it would likely provide the most reliable and tailored solution to your specific needs.

I hope this helps and please let us know if you have any other questions.

    Hi Shameem

Thanks for the response, unfortunaly dudes got no money as payment processor canceled his account as no longer deal with supplements so his orders have gone right down at the moment, which is why the Boodil plugin seemed like the answer.

I’ll keep trying to see if the plugin developer will update or find some code on a forum somewhere, or figure someway to notify him there’s a new order even if he has to go in an and manually send the Invoice to the customer.

I get notified from the security plugin for post updates (which includes Shop Orders) so if I’m on the comp I’ll manually go and send him a New Order notification if it’s from Boodil otherwise he’ll have to keep checking the site himself and manually send customers receipts.

The annoying thing is the plugin apparently works perfectly with Shopify, how hard could it have been to make sure it worked similar in Woocommerce? Grrr!

Thanks for your advice anyway. ??

    Hello @shaolin,

I understand the financial constraints you’re currently facing and the frustration that comes with the Boodil plugin not working as expected with WooCommerce.

Unfortunately, the compatibility of third-party plugins with WooCommerce is not something we have control over. However, you can also look for free plugins in the WordPress repository that can help with your email notifications.

I hope this suggestions help you find a solution that works for you. If you have any other questions or need further assistance, please don’t hesitate to ask.

Meanwhile, I will mark this thread as resolved. Should you have further inquiries, kindly create a new topic here.

    Thanks!
