grid as in… change the HTML from divs to lists or something?

If so, modify ‘gallery-plugin.php’ in the ‘gallery-plugin’ directory.

    Hello,

It is necessary to make changes in the ‘gallery_template.php’ and ‘gallery_gingle_template.php’ files in your theme, after that all changes will be visible. You will not get any results if you have made changes in another files.

    Best regards,
    Oksana

I did edit those files, but the changes won′t show :S

I think it works. For example, I change the content of “/wp-content/themes/twentyeleven/gallery-template.php” and every page generated by Gallery plugin are affected.

I think I have the same promblem like this. I have WP Twenty Eleven and I get the sign:

The following files “gallery-template.php” and “gallery-single-template.php” were not found in the directory of your theme. Please copy them from the directory /wp-content/plugins/gallery-plugin/template/ to the directory of your theme for the correct work of the Gallery plugin

But I don’t now what this means and what I have to do and what/where to change. Can anybody explain it to me?

    Hello,

Please follow the instruction which were mentioned above. Go to the website folder via FTP or cPanel and copy files.

    Best regards,
    Oksana

I have lots of galleries setup that use the template :

    gallery-single-template.php

the permalinks are turned off so they can be accessed at (for example) :

    https://213.175.214.220/~wwwmattb/?gallery=lode-stones

    https://213.175.214.220/~wwwmattb/?gallery=new-luce

However I want to access the parent galleries (if thats the right word) which should list thumbnail links to the child galleries (lode stones & new luce). This should use the other template :

    gallery-template.php

But what url do I use to access this?

    thanks in advance

    Hello jajouka,

First of all, you need to create your first Gallery page and choose ‘Gallery’ from the list of available templates (which will be used for displaying our gallery).

    Kind regards.

I see, done that, This is then My parent Gallery template page, correct?

    here’s my page:

    https://213.175.214.220/~wwwmattb/?page_id=1257

the galleries that are listed should be categorised as the left had menu shows here:

    https://213.175.214.220/~wwwmattb/

there are 3 levels, for eg :

    Main >
    Landscapes > Lode Stones > 6 photos
    > New Luce > 6 photos
    > Cairnsmore > 6 photos

    Urban > Govan Riverside 1 > 6 photos
    > Govan Riverside 2 > 6 photos
    > Govan Riverside 3 > 6 photos

How do I categorise my galleries for it work like this?

    thanks in advance

    Hello jajouka,

If you dove everything correctly, then everything must be fine.
You shouldn’t insert any gallery shortcodes to the content of this page.
You can just write a text (if it needs), the template is responsible for output of existing galleries.

    Regards.
