[Plugin: Front Page Categories] Does it work with WP 2.5?

I tried installing Front Page Categories by Ryan Boren today and I could not get it working in WP 2.5.

The id the plugin fetches is cat 1 and that category is full of posts, but nothing shows up on the frontpage.

Does it even work with WP 2.5 or is this some wierd theme issue?

I tried reverting back to the default theme but that did not change anything.
