[Plugin: Front-end Editor] Weird problem / Front end editing only works with Firebug Console enabled

Hey,

I have a weird problem with Front End editor on one installation. It will not save values (ie, the saving image will appear but not disappear) unless I activate the firebug console. Once the firebug console is active, saving works like a charm.

Any idea what could cause such a behaviour?
