Plugin for text popups on pages like popupper

I downloaded the plugin popupper and it looks like it is exactly what I need. However, I just set up a new wordpress site a week ago and my version does not seem to be compatible with popupper. Can anyone suggest a similar plugin that would allow me to add a popup window to display additional text? Thanks.
