• Background: I’m somewhat of a newbie, I’ve created html websites and coded in Basic to create Real-Time Simulations…but for the life of me I cannot find a simple plug-in for WordPress that will insert an image with a rotating gallery.

    Here’s my current website: https://www.brianheagney.com

I have a .swf file that kind of simulates a rotating image display, but it’s chunky, and I have to do a bit of work if I want to update it. So, I wanted to see if I could find a plugin that I could use jpgs instead.

Instead of inserting one jpg, I want to insert an image that when viewed in a browser, would be a series of images that fade in and out. I don’t want it to be a slideshow where the user can go back and forth, I don’t want playbuttons etc.

I actually love Featured Content Gallery, however after spending an hour trying to configure it, I couldn’t get it to work, and became ultimately frustrating.

In fact, every gallery/image sliding/etc plugin has frustrated the hell out of me, like no other plugin ever has.

Here’s a list of the image rotators that I’ve tried and failed at using:
    Creative Clans Slideshow Widget
    Featured Content Gallery
    Fotoslide
    Image Rotator
    iSlidex
    JS Banner Rotate
    Lazyest Gallery
    NexGEN Gallery
    Smooth Slider
    and
    WP-ImageFlow2

I’m obviously not expecting an answer to any of the problems I’ve had with the above gallery plugins, since I’m not providing any code or describing the problems (all different, ranging from not showing up in the Plugins directory (yes I checked to make sure I uploaded the right folder) to coming to the point where the directions just say “now just alter the php code” or something like that, which, as you can tell, is not where I am just yet).

What I’m wondering is if anyone knows of a plugin for wordpress where you can drag-n-drop an object from the visual editor, choose the pictures you want in the rotator, and even alter the settings. I’m not sure if what I’m wanting is too difficult, since so far I haven’t found a plugin that doesn’t require more coding than I’m comfortable with. Thanks for any help in advance.

I am answering my own question:
So far, the best solution for a noob like me:
least amount of coding + highest success rate = NIVO slider light
