Plugin for last pages and articles or random

  • Hello to all,
    I did some research but to no avail.

    I am looking for a plugin that let me show you (in two different positions – side column and footer):
    – Side: Some of the pages you put in a category;
    – Footer: n the last pages and post included.

    I used ‘FLEXI PAGE WIDGET’ but I get all the items belonging to a category without the ability to make a LIMIT or a random display.

    Have some suggestion to offer me?
