[Plugin: Football Pool] Time of games

  • Quick question about the timing of the games for Euro 2012 tournament. By default in this plugin the game times are set to the local time. Do I need to change the time of the games to my time zone? I have set the time of the wordpress to UTC +3 to match poland/ukraine, but the countdown is counting down to my local time start time?

    I just dont want people predicting the result after the game has started or worse still, after the game.

    Hi Gordon, you are right, the plugin uses CET time to install the matches (my local time in the Netherlands) and does not use the WordPress settings for timezone.

    The rule that locks the matches for changing the scores, compares the match time (MySQL UNIX_TIMESTAMP() function of the match time) and the time on the server (PHP time() function).

    If your server time is in your local timezone, then you can change the match times to your local timezone and it should work.
    If you change the time for the first match in the WordPress admin (set it to today), you can check the behaviour on your server.
