Hi. My jetpack is working (stats show) and I’m ftp’ing the site to my computer. The plugin folder up at the site says “Jetpack” but the folder winding up on my computer says “NO-Jetpack”.

Can anyone tell me what this means?

I am just recovering from a major hack. We have been cleaned by Sucuri and are behind a firewall. Everything is good. But, I’m worried about everything now.

    HI there:

Are you working on a localhost install? If so, Jetpack won’t work with your stats, etc as we need to have a connection to your site in order to server those stats.

However, as to why your folder is renamed NO-Jetpack – I can’t speak to your specific situation, especially since you were hacked, but by default the Jetpack folder is named jetpack (all lowercase) and shouldn’t be affected when downloading via FTP. If I were to venture a guess, that’s also part of the hack you experienced; the hacker probably wanted to disable Jetpack and renaming the folder – even by changing it from all lowercase to Jetpack – would indeed do that.

I would delete and reinstall Jetpack once you launch your site again – Jetpack’s stats is tied to a unique ID on our end tied to your site’s URL – so as long as that changed, you should be able to reconnect without any issues. If you see anything like your stats missing or anything else, we can reinstate them – just contact us here and we’ll get you sorted out.

    I hope that helps!

Hi.. It turns out both the server side and my downloaded folder say “NO-jetpack” and jetpack is working and the stats are working and I’m clean and being monitored by Sucuri (paid).. So. I’m pretty sure that it’s a Sucuri thing. There is a file in there from them .svnignore

    Thanks

Thanks for the update! Glad Sucuri has things under control for you.

    Marking as resolved.
