[Plugin: Flickr Press] Internal Server Errors

I just recently switched to Flick press and I have noticed that with the plugin activated I get periodic Internal Server 500 errors. If I look at my server processes I see that index.php is more processes than normal. If I disable flick press then I see an instant drop in processes and do not get the 500 server errors anymore.
Has anyone else seen this problem?
