[Plugin: Flexi Pages Widget] Showing children for templated pages

Flexi Pages Widget works as advertised for pages that use the Default Template. If I use a custom template, however, the Flexi Pages tree view refuses to show the children of that page. I have “List sub-pages only in parent and related pages in hierarchy” set.
Can anyone be of assistance? Thanks.
