    Hi Jeff,

Just wondering if it’s possible, whenever you get the chance to put out the next update, to have plugin filter groups displayed on the plugin filters page (the same way categories are displayed on the posts page, in a column). It’s great to be able to filter the plugins by group, but it would be nice to have an overall visual.

Also, I’ve just noticed while playing around with a new filter I created that when I changed its name, the settings were deleted. I had to go through the plugin list for that filter again… Then I realised I needed to check the “apply to children box” and when I updated, the settings were again deleted and I needed to go through the plugin list and update one more time. Ugh! Any way to get an update to a filter to retain the previous settings?

    Thanks very much!

Filter groups are displayed on the right just like categories. Check your screen options and make sure filter groups is checked. There seems to be a bug where it resets the settings when the name is changed or if you have plugins disabled and you enable one. I’ll look into that and get back to you later today. Hopefully with a fix.

The plugin filter was seeing itself as a parent and losing it’s settings. I added some code to not return itself as a parent. Download 5.6.3 and it should be fixed.

    Hi Jeff,

Thanks for looking into this for me. I checked my Plugin Filters page again, but there’s no Screen Option for displaying a Filter Groups column. There’s an actual drop-down select menu above the list of Plugin Filters, which I can use to display either all Filters, or Filters that belong to a specific Group. But no column that displays them in the list…

I also changed the name of one of the filters that was causing the glitchy saving behaviour before, and all customisations were saved, so that works. Thanks!!

Oh sorry. I misunderstood what you said. You want a column in the list of filters. I can look into adding that in the next version. I thought you meant in the edit screen.

I probably wasn’t as clear as I should have been the first time around — though from your answer I thought you understood me perfectly! Lol! Thank you very much — again — for everything!
