    HI
Few days ago I got an alert from my Wordfence that three Sassy Social Share plugin’s files have been modified on my website since the last update.

These are three admin-css files with significant changes in the coding. I can’t tell what these changes are – I am not a developer.

Any plugin file changes outside the update cycle could be hacking attacks. Wordfence warns me that plugin developers should not be updating files in this way (which they do sometimes as a workround) and prompts me to check with you whether you have made those changes.

If you didn’t – I will restore these files to their original versions.

    Could you please advise ASAP.

    thanks

    Hi there,

If you specify logo color for social share icons in the Theme Selection section, on updating the plugin this color needs to be updated in the default/original CSS files of plugin which have white logo for share icons. As the updated CSS files are different from the original CSS files, WordFence gives you this notification. It’s nothing to worry about as the plugin itself is updating the file. We will add this info in FAQ, so people know this already next time.

    hi @heateor

    thanks for your reply.

I did not change or specify the icons colour.

    Modified plugin file: wp-content/plugins/sassy-social-share/admin/css/sassy-social-share-hover-svg-vertical.css
    Modified plugin file: wp-content/plugins/sassy-social-share/admin/css/sassy-social-share-hover-svg-horizontal.css
    Modified plugin file: wp-content/plugins/sassy-social-share/admin/css/sassy-social-share-default-svg-vertical.css

About 95% of the coding in these files have been changed.

This is not normal and should not happen between the updates.

Once again, can you please CONFIRM that you have made these substantial changes to your files.

    thanks

If you have kept the Logo Color option blank in the Theme Selection section at plugin options page in admin area, then plugin hasn’t updated code in these files. You would like to check what is causing changes in these files.
Had you downloaded plugin from www.remarpro.com? Do let me know what caused these changes in these files.

    yes, LOGO COLOR is blank.

I don’t know what caused these changes. Wordfence can’t tell me and there is no way for me to find out.

Yes, I downloaded the plugin via my WP add new plugin function.

Since you have confirmed that you definitely did not push any plugin changes after the last update, I have now restored these files to their original versions as per the last official update.

I couldn’t copy those changes as they go over several pages – it’s more like 98% of each file.

    Anyway – they are restored.

Okay. Let me know if you find any info on what caused these changes.
