First of all, I am not 100% sure this problem is related to this plugin.

I manage about 20 WP sites with IWP control panel, meaning I centrally manage all plugin/theme updates. Every now and then I visit a site’s dashboard then go to the plugin section and am notified that certain plugins have been disabled as the files are missing. Its usually the same 2-3 plugins including this one.

I opened a support ticket with the support team of IWP and they said that:

IWP will only send a simple cURL call and will initiate the update process. So I believe even when you update the plugin from your WordPress Dashboard
you would have got this same error. I hope the plugin developers will be the right contact to know the cause of this issue.

So this query is just to ask if you think this issue could be related to the plugin itself somehow?
Maybe if I update the same plugin on say 10 sites it could possibly timeout but then it wouldn’t just lose the plugin, right?

    Hi Ovidiu,

There’s nothing special about MMM in this regard – it’s the same as any other plugin (just a bunch of PHP, CSS and JS files), I don’t think there’s anything I can do from this end to help out sorry. It seems like either a problem with WP Control Panel or the wp.org update server.

    Regards,
    Tom

OK, thanks for confirming, I guess I’ll check if I can find similar cases regardless of the plugin.
