    I have the same problem.
More than 2 months ago i contacted the creator about this error and he told me this:

<quote>The current public release of FeedWordPress (2010.0905) doesn’t provide
any good way for you to control the timeout for ordinary feed fetches.

However, the Development Version of FeedWordPress includes a new setting
(under Syndication –> Feeds & Updates) which does allow you to increase
the timeout for ordinary feed fetches. This feature will be included in
the next public release of WordPress, but if you’re interested in trying
it out before then, you can grab the development version by going to
feedwordpress.radgeek.com, going to “Other Versions,” and using the
“Development Version” link at the bottom of the page.</quote>

I’m still waiting for new version release…

Finally it has been released a new version!
Maybe something about timeout has been changed… but it didn’t resolve my problem. Now I get this error:

    <b>Operation timed out after 20000 milliseconds</b>

    Sorry I was wrong!
Something has been changed about the timeout!

Go to Syndacation -> Feeds & Updates -> Settings for Fetching Feeds (Advanced) and set the timeout you need to make your feed to work!

Thank very much you to Charles Johnson!
